Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the multifaceted Nigerian public figure, was born on June 24, 1980, in Oyin Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. From 1987 until 1990, he attended Ansarudeen Primary School in Oyin Akoko.

He then transferred to Hakda International School in Kaduna, where he studied from 1990 to 1992.

In 1993, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo graduated from Universal Primary School in Akure. His parents’ identities are unknown to the media; however, His father is named Mr. Ojo, while his mother is Mrs. Ojo. There is no information regarding his siblings.

Career

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo had a successful commercial and management career before entering politics. He became the CEO of Matrix IT Solutions Limited, a leading ICT consultancy firm in Nigeria, at the age of 24. He also has a certification in ethical hacking and countermeasures, demonstrating his skill in the subject.

In 2019, Tunji-Ojo won a seat in the House of Representatives of Nigeria as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He proudly represented the Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency in Ondo State.

Throughout his initial term, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo served as the House Committee chairman responsible for overseeing the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) development initiatives.

After winning re-election in 2023, Tunji-Ojo secured his position in the House of Representatives. Nevertheless, President Bola Tinubu later selected him to serve as the Minister of Interior. On August 21, 2023, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo officially took his oath of office.

All 204,332 passport application backlogs have been cleared by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) as per the instructions of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The NIS confirmed this on October 3, 2023.
