Archer” concludes its amazing 14-season run with a conclusion that perfectly captures the signature mix of comedy, espionage, and shocking story turns. The show opens with Lana taking over as head of the secret agency after the legendary Malory Archer—voiced by the late Jessica Walter—left. The story takes on a new dimension with the arrival of Zara Khan, a new British agent played by Natalie Dew.
As the story progresses, Archer and his allies must act quickly to solve the mystery behind a fleet of killer drones that are pursuing former IIA personnel. The fact that these drones are connected to the organization they formerly worked for raises the stakes since it gives their search for answers a personal dimension. The story takes an interesting turn when Fabian, the imprisoned ex-boss, plays a key role in taking down the lethal drone system.
As Pam, Archer, and Fabian find themselves on a train being hunted by killer drones and henchmen, the anxiety grows. As she testifies before a UN panel on espionage agencies, Lana encounters difficulties of her own and learns shocking details about the havoc their agency has created over the years.
A suspenseful motorcycle chase culminates in the trio’s escape from the pursuing drones, complete with a grisly yet somehow humorous decapitation incident. Viewers are kept interested by the action-packed scenes and surprising turns, which culminate in a confrontation at the UN when Archer uses an unorthodox but successful technique to switch off the drone system.
When everything is settling, the UN unleashes a bombshell: it declares all private spy agencies to be unlawful, which completely dismantles the agency. Fans are left wondering what will happen to their favorite characters after this shocking turn of events that sets up the next chapter.
