The popular and captivating Turkish drama has been renewed for a second season on Netflix
Netflix Turkey’s dramatic hit, The Tailor, returns for a second season that debuts in July. The series stars Çağatay Ulusoy (The Protector, Paper Lives) as Peyami, Şifanur Gül (As the Crow Flies) as Esvet, Salih Bademci (The Club) as Dimitri, and Olgun Şimşek (Watchtower) as Mustafa.
For those who haven’t yet begun watching the series, we won’t provide spoilers, but we do recommend you catch up on The Tailor‘s first season. In it, Peyami is introduced to us as a successful, talented fashion designer in peak demand from his atelier in Istanbul. Gradually, his true story is revealed, including a mentally unwell father (Mustafa) who is strictly – cruelly – monitored and managed by Peyami’s grandparents.
When Peyami’s grandfather dies, it is up to the famed Istanbul tailor to accept his father and his grandmother into his home. He is determined to keep his private life a secret from friends, clients and the public and, accordingly, hires a carer for Mustafa. He has, unknowingly, hired Esvet, the runaway fiance of his childhood friend, Dimitri.
What unfolds is a story of love, betrayal, family loyalties tested and friendships pushed to breaking.
