Silo Season 2 Filming on the second season of Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller Silo has entered an indefinite hiatus amid the Hollywood strikes.
Silo Season 2 The series starring Rebecca Ferguson had planned to take a break in the UK this week as it switched over sets, but Deadline hears Apple is now expected to extend the pause until further notice.
Based on Hugh Howey’s trilogy of dystopian novels, Silo has been shooting at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire with a cast that also includes Tim Robbins and Rashida Jones. AMC Studios produces.
It seems fans of Silo might have to wait longer than expected for season 2, as production has reportedly paused for an indefinite amount of time amid the SAG-AFTRA strike.
It was announced last month that Silo had been renewed for season 2, with Ferguson returning to lead the cast once again as engineer-turned-sheriff, Juliette Nichols.
“Apple has believed in our vision from day one and it’s an honour to have the opportunity to dig deeper into this story and peel back the layers to our characters in the Silo,” Graham Yost, Silo screenwriter and showrunner, said in a statement.
The season 1 finale unravelled secrets that left us with more shocking questions about what happened to humanity, and where Juliette and co will go next.

Silo season 2 release date speculation
Silo season 2 is expected to be released in 2024, but no release date has been officially confirmed. Considering the series has been impacted by the strikes, that date also could be pushed back.
The second season was confirmed in June 2023 and also began filming at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire that same month, suggesting the series will be moving swiftly with its production.
Graham Yost continues to serve as showrunner, while executive producer Morten Tyldum will return to direct the first three episodes.
Rebecca Ferguson is also once again among the large roster of executive producers.

What will be the plot of Silo season 2?
The series will continue on from that epic cliffhanger from the season 1 finale that saw Juliette discover that the world outside was indeed toxic but that there were numerous other silos.
The show will continue to explore what this means for Jules and the rest of the cast, whilst also updating us on life in the series’ initial setting.
The story will also be adapted from Hugh Howey’s Wool trilogy of books which will answer questions about the nature of the silos and how the world ended up in the state it is in.
We also predict to see the romantic relationship between Jules and IT hand Lukas explore and grow in future episodes, but we doubt it will be smooth sailing.
