Pandemonium as helicopter crashes into building in Lagos [VIDEO]
A helicopter which lost control has crashed into a building in the Oba Akran, Ikeja area of Lagos State on Tuesday.
According to reports, the incident occurred near the AP Filling Station and United Bank For Africa on Oba Akran Street in Ikeja, the Lagos State capital.
The Lagos Fire and Rescue Service was being awaited for further emergency operations to salvage the situation.
Helicopter has crashed in Lagos, going up in flames.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the aircraft, which has not yet been identified, crashed near the AP Filling Station and United Bank For Africa on Oba Akran.
Witnesses say that the aircraft was flying low when it crashed.
The incident happened around 3.30 pm. As of now, it remains uncertain if the chopper pilots survived, and there is no clarity on other casualties as first responders are currently conducting rescue operations.
This newspaper learnt that the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service are expected to arrive soon to assist in the emergency operation.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
