Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest‘s match started with full attacking forces.
Sterling bags his second in quick succession, getting the better of Forest defender Felipe before bending the ball inside the far post. Chelsea lead and relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest’s hideously bad away form showes no sign of abating despite their good start.
Forest are defending desperately now. Hall and Loftus-Cheek, two academy graduates, come forward together and exchange some nice touches. Hall is left to cross it, but Felipe heads it clear.
Not far enough, though. They come again and Gallagher has another effort, and Felipe is good enough for it – again. He’s defended well today.
The free-kick is sent goalwards by Ziyech. His team-mates don’t look enormously pleased.
Chelsea win a corner when they come again, once again through Ziyech. Left-footed, plays it short to Sterling, whose cross barely beats the first man, but they can come again as it falls to the two-goal man. He finds Hall.
Trevoh Chalobah sends a cross into the Forest penalty area and Raheem Sterling sweeps home for an equaliser Chelsea scarcely deserve, his shot taking a deflection on its way in. A minute or so previously, Forest had gone close to doubling their lead from a corner.
Not long for either side to find a winner. Chelsea look the most likely at present.
They have the ball in a dangerous area with Chalobah on the right hand side and he does brilliantly to evade Lodi’s clutches, with Felipe coming across to clear for a Chelsea throw.
Enzo Fernandez is conducting play now, and they are switching it from side to side, no doubt tiring out their opposition.
Gallagher is getting into attacking positions, trying to find the oft-valuable gaps between the wide centre-backs and wing-backs. Finding Ziyech, the Morocco international is brought down by Danilo on the right hand side in a promising position.
There it is, all over at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea pushed for a winner at the end but had no real quality in the final third, with the team in red defending stoutly against their attack.
It’s a massive point for Forest as they head into the final two games of the season – leaving them now three points clear of the drop zone.
