Extrapolations Season 1 Episode 12037: A Raven Story
Extrapolations Episode 1 is a thought-provoking piece on the state of climate change in the world. Loaded with a star-studded cast, the Scott Z. Burns-directed series will undoubtedly ignite a debate amongst its viewers. Sienna Miller gives a brilliant performance, but the second episode is poetic but somewhat convoluted. By the third episode, the show begins to flounder in its self-importance, preach-filled scripts, and too indulgent while being dryer than expected.
Here is what happened in the first three episodes of the first season of Extrapolations:
- The main objective of Extrapolations is to cool down the world. The temperature has risen an extra 1.5 degrees to 2 degrees in a short time. The world is also thirsting for water.
- A man pulling the strings is Nick Bilton, owner of Alpha Industries. This “Trump” like figure is using the issue of building a hotel and casino in the Antarctic to cover up the fact he wants mining rights in the area. If the temperature keeps rising, the ice caps melt, exposing precious minerals like gold, nickel, and cobalt.
- Bilton makes a deal to allow countries to access his water filtration patents in exchange for capping off the temperature rise of no more than 2.3 degrees.
- When the timeline reaches 2046, we find out Rebecca’s husband Omar has passed, and her now nine-year-old son has a condition called “summer heart,” which means his life expectancy is only 30 years.
- Rebecca loses her job for liberating a humpback whale and saving them from beaching themselves but is demoted to a position in Alaska.
- Miami loses most of its citizens as they take refuge in Tallahassee, including Marshall, the Rabbi we met in the pilot.
Extrapolations Season 1 Episode 4 Release Date and Time
Episode 4 will be released on Apple TV+ on March 24th, 2023, at midnight PST. The episode is titled “2059 pt 1” and will have a run time of 49 minutes.
Predictions
- I don’t know about you, but I think Extrapolations is a prequel to the Kevin Costner film Waterworld and Mariner will show up in the last episode.
- Will Mr. Bilton feel guilty about his role in the earth crumbling under the own weight of its water, uncontrollable forest fires, and countless deaths? The character needs an arc, and the show has too many one-dimensional villains. If not, Bilton will have to pay for his crimes against humanity one way or another.
- This is an anthology series, so I am unsure what characters will pop in and out. However, I think Marshall, Rebecca, and Bilton will appear until the final episode.
