In Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 6, Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) continues to pressure those who keep Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa) incarcerated. He is forced to play dirty, though, as he tries to convince the DA to sign Bunny’s release. Meanwhile, the inmates are battling for their lives on the inside as the warring tribes fight for dominance. It’s an improved episode, with some great twists and exciting action. Here’s what happened in episode six:

• Corrupt prison guard Davidson frees an inmate who attacks his enemies, killing one and injuring Raphael. Mike asks for details on this head correctional officer and Kareem to get him a visitor’s pass.
• Kyle starts to fall apart, spending his day building numerous sheds. He attends a meeting with Mike and Ian. Robert is in trouble after the riots, and Kyle surprises Mike. Kyle was the one who stole the bonds from the police station, and he handed them over to Mike.
• Kyle and Mike drive to Davidson’s house. Kyle worries that he won’t be a good father. Mike reassures him that he’ll be great. Mike threatens Davidson, telling him to stay away from Bunny. Davidson pushes Mike, and Kyle attacks him with a gun raised. They both warn Davidson to leave Bunny alone.
• Kyle gets drunk and drives home. Mariam asks if he is alright. They are all concerned about his mental well-being.
• Bunny is taken out of the kill box. Mike meets with him, pleading with Bunny to lay low. Bunny is angry, though, as he has had to defend himself. He can no longer trust Mike. Bunny tells Mike that people want him dead; he has had to protect Mike and himself.
• Mariam meets with juvenile detention center prisoner Jacob. He asks her to put in a good word with Mike. He needs help with gangs and transferring to another prison.
• Mike crashes a meal between Evelyn and District Attorney Lockett. Mike tells the DA to free Bunny, mentioning Milo being alive and out in society. If he helps with Bunny’s release, Mike will benefit from the DA tracking Milo down.
• Carney covers for Kareem after an inmate dies in suspicious circumstances. Kareem had beaten this inmate in an earlier episode.
• The man who attacked Raphael is maimed by his team. Gunner tells Bunny that it was a lone wolf who attacked them. The attacker loses both his hands for this mistake.
• Bunny tells Mike that he wants out after clearing a path for Mike. A masked assassin then kills the DA.
