Few days ago, it was reported that there was confusion along Ada George Road in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Thursday morning, as soldiers took over the Rumukpakani Police station, reportedly in response to the killing of their colleague by a policeman.
The pandemonium was an aftermath of death of a soldier, who was reportedly shot by a policeman. In a new report, it has been gathered that the suspected killer has now been arrested. Eyewitnesses told newsmen that the soldier identified as Akin, lodged at a hotel along Elipranwo part of Port Harcourt, before the incident occurred.

Angered over the killing of their colleague, a group of soldiers stormed the Rumukpakani Police Station and allegedly arrested the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and eight others, including the policeman, who reportedly shot the Army officer.
After taking away some of the policemen from the station, some suspects in the police cell were said to have taken advantage of the commotion to escape from the police station. The presence of the soldiers at the police station was said to have caused commotion as motorists and pedestrians found it difficult to pass through Ada George road, which was locked down for over an hour.
Last month, soldiers stormed a community in Benue State and razed large parts of it in a reprisal attack that followed claims that one of their colleagues was lynched by the townspeople.
In December, soldiers clashed with police officers in Ekiti State, causing commotion and anxiety amongst residents.

“The policemen probably mistook him for a criminal and shot him dead,” the witness said.
