This collection of four short films from prominent Indian directors include tales of intimacy, sex, and the complexities of love. From a passionate affair gone sour to the discovery of self-pleasure, the stories all focus on the point of view of Indian women in the realm of love and sex.
By India Today Web Desk: Mrunal Thakur and Angad Bedi will be headlining R Balki’s short film in the anthology, Lust Stories 2. The two will be collaborating with Neena Gupta for the Netflix anthology. While the title of Balki’s short is yet to be known, the short will reportedly be a light-hearted comedy film, which will see the director exploring the emotional aspect of ‘lust’ rather than sexual.
MRUNAL AND ANGAD IN R BALKI’S FILM
A source from the team informs IndiaToday.in, “Mrunal and Angad’s shorts have elements of drama and romance with a touch of a slice of life element in them. What’s interesting is R Balki being one of the directors in it. The main theme of the film is lust, as in not sexual, but the emotion of lust. Balki has a peculiar way of storytelling, so it will be interesting to see his take on lust.”
ABOUT THE DUO
Mrunal is fresh from the success of Dulquer Salmaan’s Sita Ramam and Angad was last seen in The List. R Balki is known for some of the classics like Cheeni Kum, Paa etc. Lust Stories Season 1 was released in 2018, and had four short film segments directed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar, with a cast, including Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, Manisha Koirala and Kiara Advani with Akash Thosar, Vicky Kaushal, and others.
