Jurgen Klopp has hinted that three of his ‘Fab Four’ could be unavailable for the FA Cup third round tie against Everton on Friday.
Both Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho were unavailable for Liverpool in their 2-1 win over Burnley yesterday due to injury.
Sadio Mane was the only member of the ‘Fab Four’ to start the game and gave Liverpool the lead before Johann Gudmundsson equalised.
But Ragnar Klavan stepped up in injury time to prod home a close range effort to earn Liverpool their third successive top flight victory.
Their attention now swiftly turns to the FA Cup tie against their Merseyside rivals later this week.
However, Klopp could be without Salah, Coutinho and Mane for differing reasons.
The Liverpool boss confirmed Coutinho is a “doubt” to face Everton while both Salah and Mane have been allowed to fly Ghana to appear at the CAF awards on Thursday night, just 24 hours before the FA Cup tie leaving them short on time to get back for the match.
Both Liverpool players have been shortlisted for the player of the year award, alongside Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
And Klopp insists he couldn’t stand in the way of his players attending the ceremony.
“We have everything organised. We have two of the three best African players in our squad. We have to show them respect,” Klopp said.
“If it had been a matchday they wouldn’t have asked, but the night before is fine.
“We sleep in a hotel, they sleep in a plane. That is all the difference, the modern world.
“If Mo is not fit, it will not be for that. For our side, it is just a sign of respect.
“I know it, I had Aubameyang too, and there is nothing more important for them than to go there. It’s fine.”
