Bart Sawyer has passed away at age 57
The family of Roddy Piper has announced on social media that Steve Stewart, who is better known as Bart Sawyer, passed away on Thursday at age 57.
As of this writing the cause of death is not known.
Sawyer is best known for his time in the Portland territory and the USWA. He also worked as enhancement talent for both the WWF and WCW. He also wrestled for W*ING in Japan.
He was forced to retire in late 2004 after suffering a minor stroke.
Sawyer was one-half of the USWA with his tag team partner Flex Kavana, who much later went on to become The Rock in the WWF/E.
