Extrapolations Season 1 Episode 52059 Part II: Nightbirds
In Mumbai, small-time criminal Gaurav and his unexpected companion Neel must complete a high-stakes mission.
“2059 pt 1” is a slight improvement for Extrapolations. The episode features a storyline ripped from Greek mythology that pits son versus father with the world’s fate in the balance. This episode is more interesting than entertaining, but the story does have three coherent acts that lead to a satisfying finale. Still, something about these episodes remains sterile and chemistry-free between the actors that cannot be shaken.
Here’s what happened in Extrapolations Season 1 Episode 4:
- Jonathan Chopin is an advisor to the President on climate change. He is not in favor of geoengineering. His son Rowan does not favor geoengineering and criticizes his father before leaving. He goes off the grid for a few weeks.
- The President signs the CIT 2 Climate Intervention Treaty and extends the moratorium on geoengineering or any act to manipulate the climate artificially.
- Jonathan’s ex-wife, Gita, is in favor of geoengineering. She uses her company, NSI, to create a carbon omission-free and self-flying plane that is top secret. She hires Rowan to work with her.
- While this is happening, Jonathan finds out Alpha sold chemicals to Gita, and he is now afraid her mission is to spark a manipulation of Earth’s climate.
- The President contacts Bilton and asks him to perform a “cover to action,” which is conducting an aggressive action that the United States wants no part of. So, Bilton shoots the plane out of the sky, and Grita is killed.
- Rowan activates thousands of drones that drop chemicals to manipulate Earth’s climate worldwide.
Extrapolations Season 1 Episode 5 Release Date and Time
Episode 5 will be released on Apple TV+ on March 31st, 2023, at midnight PST. The episode is titled “2059 pt 2″ and will have a run time of 50 minutes.
Predictions
- Nick Bilton is an interesting character. Why would he sell the chemicals to Grita if his climate change beliefs align with the President? A world leader who just denounced the use of geoengineering weeks prior? Bilton is a man of science and technology who favors using these means to fix climate change.
- Netflix’s The White Tiger star Adarsh Gourav is a scene in one of the very last scenes of the episode, watching the plane blow up. Expect this character to be a central figure in the next episode.
- Expect Rowan to be exposed as having a direct connection to Bilton in the next few episodes.
- How will geoengineering affect the world? I expect the world to come to an end by the season finale. Sorry folks, no second season.
