Biography
Ntombizanele Beauty Sifuba, best known as Zanele Sifuba, is a South African politician and educator. She is the current the Speaker of the Free State Provincial Legislature.
In May 2019, she became a member of the legislature. She belongs to the ruling party, African National Congress.

Education
Zanele graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Vista University in 1988. She obtained a Bachelor of Psychology from the Central University of Technology.
She did a postgraduate diploma in governance and political transformation at the University of Free State in 2017. She is a master’s degree student.
Career
Zanele Sifuba is a teacher and a politician. She has over a decade of teaching experience. From 1999 to 2019, she worked as a teacher.
She was the deputy director of the provincial Department of Social Development. Her primary role was monitoring and evaluation.
Sifuba became the deputy secretary of the African National Congress in the party’s President Steyn region in 1995. She also served in many leadership positions in the South African Democratic Teachers Union.
Zanele Sifuba served as the deputy provincial chairperson of The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU). She is a member of the African National Congress’s subcommittees on economic development and gender and equity.
From April 23, 2019, to May 8, 2019, she was the 12th Candidate on the ANC Provincial Free State Election List. The ANC won nineteen seats in the Free State Provincial Legislature.
Zanele was sworn in as an MPL and elected the Speaker on May 22, 2019.
Personal life
Zanele Sifuba is a proud mother of four – three daughters and a son. In October 2022, the screenshots of a video of Ntombizanele Sifuba made their way to the internet and made rounds on social media.
The Free State provincial legislature ordered an investigation into the nude photos of the Speaker. According to the Legislature spokesman Life Mokone;
The legislature will establish investigations into this gender-based violence. This is harassment and whoever spread the video must face the law. This is an insult to elderly women.
