Real Madrid fear CHELSEA have now entered the fight to sign Gabriel Jesus from Man City

Real Madrid fear CHELSEA have now entered the fight to sign Gabriel Jesus from Man City, with new owner Todd Boehly ‘preparing a formal proposal’ for the striker also wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham.

Real Madrid are bracing for a transfer scrap with Chelsea over Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, reports claim, with new owner Todd Boehly keen to make the Brazilian one of his first signings.

Jesus has a number of teams from across Europe chasing his signature this summer with City boss Pep Guardiola willing to let him leave after signing Erling Haaland in a £51million deal.

Real Madrid were the latest team to join the hunt after reportedly being offered him but they face plenty of competition.

Chelsea have shown ‘strong interest’ in Jesus, according to Spanish outlet AS, and are preparing a bid once the legalities of Boehly’s deal have officially gone through – in a blow to Madrid who were hoping to bring him to the Bernabeu.

Jesus, who scored eight times in 21 starts for Man City in their title-winning season in the last campaign, has been heavily linked with moves to Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham, but a switch to LaLiga has been mooted this week.

Both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are believed to have been offered the player, in a blow to the Gunners – who are desperate for a new forward with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both set to leave on free transfers.

And now they will face even more competition to get their man after Chelsea threw their hat in the ring – with the report from Spain suggesting they are ‘very interested’ in the player.
