Liverpool Prepare January Bid For PSG Wantaway Goalie Kevin Trapp As Simon Mignolet Replacement

Liverpool are reportedly lining up a January move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.

Kevin Trapp is unhappy playing second fiddle at PSG.

Liverpool are frustrated with the number of costly mistakes the current No1 Simon Mignolet is making.

The Belgian shot-stopper was at fault for Granit Xhaka’s goal during the 3-3 draw with Arsenal on Friday.

And he has often come under criticism from fans and pundits alike for the nervousness he spread across the back line.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is set to hold talks with Mignolet this week in light of his recent performances.

After the draw at the Emirates Stadium, Klopp said: “We don’t talk about that. It’s my job. It’s obvious. Everyone saw the mistakes.

“That will never happen again with Simon. He hasnever conceded a goal like that – so we don’t haveto make a big deal of it.”

But Italian publication CalcioMercato are reporting that Klopp has already started looking for a replacement.

And the German has apparently identified PSG’s Trapp as a suitable candidate.

Simon Mignolet’s position at Liverpool is under threat.

The 27-year-old is currently second choice behind Alphonse Areola for the French outfit.

And his agent Jorg Neubauer said last week: “If there is a chance in winter, Kevin wants to leave Paris.”

After making 30 appearances for PSG last term, Trapp has been restricted to only three this time out.

And Klopp could move quickly to try and solve his defensive fragility which is causing his side all sorts of problems.
