Release N50bn for revitalisation of public universities – ASUU tells FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday, January 17, asked the Federal Government to release N50 billion out of N220 billion it had agreed to make available for the revitalisation of public universities. The union in a series of tweet on its official Twitter handle said the payment for the institutions would fall in line with previous agreements made between the FG and the union. It also said that the N50 billion will be added to the N20 billion earlier released by the federal government for the year.

The union also said it has further submitted its suggestions and awaits a meeting with the federal government next week. According to ASUU, the conclusions followed series of consultations various zones of the union in the country.
