NEW YORK RAPPER CRAIG MACK DEAD AT 46

Craig Mack, the New York rapper who shot to fame on Diddy’s Bad Boy label, has died at the age of 46.

Craig Mack shot to iconic status with his hit ‘Flava in Ya Ear’ in 1994. The Long Island rapper died of heart failure at a hospital near his Walterboro, S.C. home on Monday, his producer confirmed to NY Daily News. Alvin Toney said: “God bless my friend. He was a good friend of mine. He was prepared for whatever comes, to go home to the Lord. He was prepared to do that. He wasn’t scared. He was ready.”

Toney visited Mack last week at the Overcomer Ministry church in Walterboro to film a documentary about the retired rapper. “Nobody got to understand his story,” Toney said. “I wanted the world to know the talent he had. It was something I wanted people to enjoy, but it was cut short because he was very religious and wanted to go to church.”

Mack is survived by a wife and two children. Tributes from fellow artists have already started to flow for the emcee. Fellow artist DJ Scratch shared a tribute to Mack on Instagram: “I just got a disturbing phone call. I cannot believe this dude is gone.”
