Back in January, rapper Common, pianist Robert Glasper and drummer Karriem Riggins announced that they have formed a new band called August Greene. Since then, the group has shared two solid singles — ‘Optimistic‘ featuring Brandy and ‘Black Kennedy‘. Now ahead of the album’s release on March 9, they have decided to share the project in its entirety.
Stream the full album on NPR here which features only one other guest, Samora Pinderhughes. August Greene, which features 11 new songs, will be available across all services and stores on Friday via Amazon Music.
Recently, NPR Music released August Greene’s Tiny Desk Concert, featuring guest vocalists Brandy, Maimouna Youssef, and Andra Day.
