The absence of a bridge yesterday forced the Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal’s convoy to be ferried across River Benue. Governor Tambuwal was heading to Ibi LGA of Taraba State to pay a visit to the former Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon Isiaka Bawa, who recently lost his mother.

The thing is the people of that community don’t want a bridge built across the river because transporting vehicles across with their ferries is their source of income… ₦2000 per vehicle, multiply that and see how much they earn daily by ferrying Atleast 10 vehicles daily… They’ll vehemently oppose building of a bridge there
